10 ways to eat Healthy

Eating healthy does not just mean trying to stay or get slim. It means giving your body everything it needs to maintain your state of good health.
Here are 10 helpful hints to get you closer to being a healthy eater.
1. Drink more water. Being hydrated is crucial and many people mistake mild thirst for hunger meaning they over eat.
2. Eat your greens. Research suggests green vegetables can help prevent tissue breakdown associated with heart disease. That doesn’t mean you can never eat meat, just in moderation and attempt to stick to healthy white meat and chicken recipes whenever possible.
3. Avoid trans fats. These increase the risk of heart disease.
4. Take multi-vitamins. Your body need vitamins to manage it’s daily processes. Take them for long term good health.
5. Let treats be treats. Chocolate, cream and sweets are best appreciated for their rarity and should not be a staple of your diet.
6. Cap your calories. Your body only needs food as a fuel and when your tank is full you have had enough. Know your limit and stick with it.
7. Balance what you eat. Eating too much of one thing will leave you missing out on crucial aspects of your diet. Mix it up.
8. Eat some fruit. Fruit is good for the brain and taste great.
9. Eat some fish. Fish contains lots of good substances, not least of which is Omega 3, a fatty acid associated with a healthy heart.
10. Eat slowly. Your body takes time to know it has been sated with food often leading to you feeling full after you have actually reached that point. By eating slowly you give your body a chance to give you the all important message that you are full nearer the right time.
