			Choosing a diet plan can be a first step so overwhelming that it may put you off your quest to loose weight altogether. The last thing you want is to end up on a fad diet that promises you quick and easy results, but either doesn&rsquo;t work or is not a sustainable programme. When I was faced with this dilemma, I chose to begin Weight Watchers through their website www.weightwatchers.co.uk. Here is a brief overview of my experience with this diet, to help you decide if it&rsquo;s right for you before paying the fee to sign up.</p>

			First of all Weight Watchers is far from free, but won&rsquo;t leave you penniless without enough to pay for your winter <a href="http://www.crownoiluk.com/">heating oil</a>. They run a number of seasonal promotions, but generally maintain a standard rate of either &#163;10.95 per month (with a one time sign-up fee of &#163;29.85) or three months for &#163;49.80 (including the sign-up fee). Personally, I chose the three-month plan to ensure I gave the diet a fair shot of working and began it with the start of summer.</p>

I chose to simply use the online tools, which on the most basic level serve to allocate you a number of points worth of food that you can consume each week (based on weight, desired weight loss and level of activity). When you eat something you can then add it to your list of food for the day and the programme will calculate the number of points each item is worth. In addition to this, you can add in exercise thereby increasing the amount of food you can eat.<br />I will say this about Weight Watchers: it is effective. However, it is a tough diet because if you want to lose weight fairly quickly it really restricts your calorie intake. I found myself constantly hungry and trying to only eat foods with low point values so I could have more than a bite or two. I did lose about seven pounds on the diet within the first month and half, but then I quit. In my opinion the diet plan is too restrictive to by truly sustainable.<br />In short, Weight Watchers is an effective tool if you are very dedicated to losing weight and want to do so over a short period of time. It&rsquo;s nice that with the plan, nothing is completely off limits. However, if you are looking for a sustainable long-term health plan, I would suggest looking elsewhere.</p>
